Affiliate Revenue Opportunities Abound For Everyone

Affiliate Revenue has been around for along time; before the age of the Internet companies sold through sales channels which included their own sales force, distributors and agents. Internal sales forces are expensive to run, distributors deal with handling the goods themselves while agents just took a commission for introducing buyers. The old fashioned agent has become the affiliate marketer introducing buyers to sellers and taking a commission.

Affiliate Revenue has become common on the internet because companies have realised that there are potentially millions of salesmen out there that will only be paid when they take action; much cheaper than using your own salesmen. Affiliate revenue has, also, proliferated because in this information age the products can be distributed instantly.

The old fashioned agent would usually only earn low percentage commissions because of all the costs involved in making and shipping real products. There was not much margin (profit before overheads) for a manufacturer to be able to pay high commissions. The internet has introduced information products that once the work has gone into creating them are cheap to make and distribute; this leaves a large margin so high commissions can be paid.

If you want to earn high amounts of commission then look at those products that have a high intellectual content and are cheap to make and distribute. The obvious areas are software, training programs and information products.

Despite what I have already said, do not dismiss other areas where there is no price sensitivity or there is short supply of products. Look how many times products have sold out around Christmas when there is high demand and short supply; people seem willing to pay any price to get hold of the latest gadget or a toy for their children. Many medical remedies, anti-aging products and diet products carry high margins because people will pay high prices to solve their problems.

If you do your own research into the above areas I am sure you will be able to find something that you are capable of promoting and earning Affiliate Revenue from.

The list is not exhaustive; there are obvious areas that earn highly but are very competitive such as Gambling, Adult Entertainment, Forex and Financial Products; you have to decide whether you want to operate in these areas or in smaller less competitive niches. The usual advice is to find a niche with low competition where your knowledge and expertise in the subject area can shine through.
